KEY TELEPHONE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in control performance for a main device connected to a plurality of key telephones capable of being installed multiple kinds of line status indicators. SOLUTION: The key telephone system comprises a main device 10 and a plurality of key telephones 11 capable of being installed multiple kinds of line status indicators. The key telephone 11 detects a type of a installed line status indicator 7 (8), and determines whether a line status indication information transmitted from the main device 10 matches with the detected type of the installed line status indicator 7 (8) or not. If it is determined that the line status indication information transmitted from the main device 10 supports a line status indicator of a type different from the detected type of the installed line status indicator 7 (8), the line status transmitted from the main device 10 is converted so as to be able to be displayed on the line status indicator 7 (8) installed at the key telephone 11.
