PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head of a multi-channel type in which a S/N ratio of a reproduced signal is kept good, while an error of relative positions of thin film magnetic heads is less, a manufacturing method of this head, and a magnetic tape recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: Such a magnetic head is adopted that the head is characterized in that the head is provided with a body incorporating thin film magnetic heads 37a, 37b, the thin film magnetic heads 37a, 37b are formed respectively from a gap layer 54 and a pair of core layer, while each tip parts 46b, 53a of the gap layer 54 and each core layer are exposed from a medium sliding plane, incorporated in the body in a state in which each track width direction is tilted with the same azimuth angle, and a pair of trimming recessed parts 61, 61 shared in a state in which each contour line 37c of both sides of a track width direction of the gap layer 54 and each core layer is directed in a moving direction Z of the thin film magnetic head are formed on the medium sliding plane.
