SOLUTION: A store controller 1 of the store information system 100 acquires specific merchandise information 81 indicating what merchandise is merchandise unsuitable for sale from a given information providing server 6 via the Internet 60. The specific merchandise information 81 in the store controller 1 is further provided for an inspection apparatus 2, a label issuing apparatus 3 and a POS system 40. The apparatuses 2 to 4 each acquire merchandise identification information 91 about merchandise for sale to match it with the specific merchandise information 81. Whether the merchandise for sale is merchandise unsuitable for sale or not is determined, and if merchandise unsuitable for sale is found, an alarm is output.
