PHOTOGRAPHING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photographing device such that the usability of an image display unit is improved. SOLUTION: When an operation (an operation in which the tip of a rod 30 is pressed to slides a slider 30 downward) for turning on the power source is done while an LCD unit 16 of a DSC 10 is disposed at a storage position (a position shown by (AS)) nearly flush with a housing 12, a motor is driven to automatically rotates the LCD unit 16 to a display position (a position shown by (C)) where the photographer can easily view a display image since the image display surface 16A of the LCD unit 16 is directed to the photographer side. Further, an operation (an operation in which the tip of the rod 30 is pressed to slide the slider 30 upward) for turning off the power source is done while the LCD unit 16 of the DSC 10 is positioned at a display position, the motor is driven to automatically rotate the LCD unit 16 to the storage position.
