Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a new copolymer of a diallylamine and sulfur dioxide having high solubility in organic solvents and low corrosivity to metals, when used in the field of fine chemicals such as inkjet recording in a high yield in a simple manner. SOLUTION: The aqueous solution of the copolymer of a diallylamine and sulfur dioxide is obtained by polymerizing a diallylamine hydrochloride and sulfur dioxide in a small excess to the diallylamine hydrochloride in molar ratio in the aqueous solution, neutralizing the polymer solution and electrodialyzing the solution using ion exchange membranes.
