Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus having an optical sheet assembly for enhancing transmittance, a contrast ratio and visual field angle characteristics through the optimized optical condition. SOLUTION: The optical sheet assembly is adopted to a liquid crystal display panel provided with a liquid crystal layer having -10 to +10° twist angle. An upper polarizer is disposed over an upper substrate of the liquid crystal display panel, and includes an absorption axis forming at an angle of 37 to 57° in a clockwise direction with respect to a major axis. An upper λ/2 retardation film is disposed between the upper substrate and the upper polarizer, and includes Δnd1 of 250 to 270 nm and a slow axis forming at an angle of 156 to 176° in the clockwise direction with respect to the absorption axis. An upper λ/4 retardation film is disposed between the upper substrate and the upper λ/2 retardation film, and includes Δnd2 of 130 to 150 nm and a slow axis forming at an angle of 101 to 120° in the clockwise direction with respect to the absorption axis. Thereby, transmittance, the contrast ratio and a visual field angle of the liquid crystal display apparatus are enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
