Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method in which the yield of optical modules is improved by preliminarily selecting those having large loss due to deviation between the center of the core and the center position of the hemispherical end. SOLUTION: The insertion loss measuring method of an optical fiber pigtail is characterized in that the optical fiber pigtail 15 is moved along the groove 20 of a V-grooved substrate 14 while the tip end of the pigtail 15 is irradiated with a laser beam, that an optical output is measured at the position where the output of the laser beam is maximized, and that the insertion loss is calculated at such measuring position.
