Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a regenerating timing of a DPF corresponding to the exhaust properties of a carbonaceous (DS) component and an organic solvent soluble (SOF) component which are changed with a fuel nature. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device comprises a specific gravity detecting means for detecting the specific gravity of fuel being used and a fuel nature detecting means S2 for detecting at least one fuel nature of a cetane number, an octane number, evaporating property, a heating value and the content of aromatic hydrocarbon in accordance with the detected specific gravity. In accordance with the operated condition of an engine and the fuel nature detected by the fuel nature detecting means S2, the accumulated amount of particulates trapped by a particulate trapping filter and accumulated thereon is computed together with their components (S3).
