Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure excellent quality of a cut surface even when machining is performed by obliquely irradiating a machining surface such as groove surface with laser beams. SOLUTION: In the laser beam machining apparatus, a steel plate 1 is obliquely irradiated with laser beams L from a first nozzle 24 (an assist gas injection nozzle), and assist gas G1 is injected along the optical axis thereof. The apparatus has a second nozzle 29 (a nozzle for forming gas flow) to blow support gas G2 against a portion from a backward side of the blowing position of the assist gas G1 (at the position with the laser beams L deviated to the inclined side) on the steel plate 1 in an oblique direction from a more backward side of the portion.
