Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device and a control method for easily acquiring various pieces of additional information about digital contents using a remote control device capable of sending and receiving structured data. SOLUTION: The remote control device comprises a data sending and receiving unit for receiving the structured data from the remote sending and receiving device, and for extracting display information included in the data, and a display unit for displaying the extracted display information in which the data sending and receiving unit transmits metadata information relating to the display information selected by a user to the remote sending and receiving device.
