Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of suppressing the deterioration of reception characteristics which is caused by partly propagating as a clad mode and entering a local light receiving part by a light signal outputted by a local light emitting element. SOLUTION: The module is equipped with a first photonic crystal optical fiber which is coupled to a transmission line from a communicating party, a can type package 12 including a light emitting element 14, a flexible substrate 10 mounted with a light receiving element 9, a wavelength division multiplex element 8 which is arranged in a manner that a transmitting optical signal from the light emitting element is passed through and made incident to the core 1 of the first photonic crystal optical fiber and that an inputting optical signal from the first photonic crystal optical fiber is reflected and made incident to the light receiving element, and a second photonic crystal optical fiber which provides a waveguide between the wavelength division multiplex element and the light emitting element.
