MATRIX SWITCHER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix switcher that dispenses with a telop device and a logo generator. SOLUTION: The matrix switcher for switching a moving picture signal and still picture signal in television transmission is provided with a frame memory 40 for storing still picture information in advance and switching circuits 21 to 23 for switching either a moving picture signal or a still picture signal in response to a switching signal from the outside and outputting the switched signal to the outside. The relay switching circuits 21, 22 and 23 usually use unoutputted signals 31-1, 32-1 and 33-1 as output signals 31, 32 and 33 in response to switching signals 41, 42 and 43. When an abnormality is detected in one among the output signals 31, 32 and 33 at an output destination (unillustrated), a corresponding switching signal is made effective, and a corresponding relay switching circuit makes a telop signal T as an output signal in place of the output signal.
