Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a lens barrel and its drive gear is protected by preventing the lens barrel from being extended further nearly at the same time when the extended lens barrel is pressed into contact with an obstacle. SOLUTION: A camera is provided with a collapsible lens barrel having a contact sensor at its tip and an extension stop means (#17) for stopping the extension of the lens barrel when the lens barrel is extended and the contact sensor senses the contact. In the camera with the above constitution, the extension of the lens barrel is stopped nearly at the same time when the extended lens barrel is pressed into contact with the obstacle. Since the tip of the lens barrel is highly probably pressed into contact with an object at macro photographing, the constitution is effective. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
