Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting cable capable of preventing itself from serious damage at a short-circuit accident. SOLUTION: The super conducting cable 1 is structured by twisting three cable cores 10 formed by coaxially laying a former 200, a superconductor layer 20, an electric insulation layer 202, a shield layer 21, and a protection layer 204 in this sequence, and housing the cable cores in a heat insulation tube 101. A current limiting part 11 having a critical current value smaller than that of another part (base part) is arranged on the superconductor layer of respective cable cores 10. When an excessive current flows through the superconductor layer due to the short-circuit accident, since the critical current value of the current limiting part 11 is smaller than that of the base part, the current exceeds the limiting current value at the current limiting part, the resistance at the current limiting part becomes high, and the current limiting part generates heat.
