Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polybutylene terephthalate resin having excellent mechanical strength and color tone, reduced haze and foreign materials, a short injection molding cycle, excellent productivity and high stability to hydrolysis. SOLUTION: The polybutylene terephthalate resin is synthesized by using a titanium compound as a catalyst and is composed of a dicarboxylic acid unit consisting essentially of a terephthalic acid unit and a glycol unit consisting essentially of 1,4-butanediol. The polybutylene terephthalate resin is characterized as comprising ≥0.01 and ≤250 ppm of a titanium-containing substance having a composition represented by Ti/C/H/O=1.0/x/y/z (wherein, x assumes a value of ≥3.0 to ≤6.0; y assumes a value of ≥3.0 to ≤6.0; and z assumes a value of ≥2.0 to ≤4.0).
