CONSOLE BOX FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a console box for an automobile capable of preventing accommodated object(s) in an object accommodation box from slipping off, eliminating necessity for any unlocking operation or key manipulation when the accommodation box is to be opened, and enhancing the easiness in handling the box. SOLUTION: The console box for the automobile is equipped with a box body of over-part opened type to be installed between seats laid in the width direction of inside the cabin and a lid coupled with the box body in such a way as rotatably in the vertical direction and capable of opening and closing the over opening of the box body, wherein the arrangement further includes the object accommodation box 30 provided on the inside of the lid, rotary lid 34 coupled with the opening edge of the box 30 in such a way as rotatable freely and capable of opening and closing the opening, a lid locking mechanism 40 to hold the rotary lid 34 of the box 30 in the closed position, and an unlocking mechanism 50 rotating a certain angle or more upward from the closed position where the over opening of the box body is closed and disengaging the locking condition of the lid locking mechanism 40 when the opening of the box 30 faces up.
