Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dial type switch enabled to utilize inside and backside spaces of a dial operation part. SOLUTION: The dial type switches 10, 20 have a freely rotatable dial operation part 11 of which the outer periphery edge is formed into a circular shape, and a detection part 12 detecting a rotation amount of the dial operation part 11. Teeth 11a are formed at least over a partial section of the outer periphery edge of the dial operation part 11, and the detection part 12 is constructed so as to detect the rotation amount of the dial operation part 11 according to the rotation amount of a toothed wheel member 14 engaging with the teeth 11a of the dial operation part 11.
