Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system comprising a memory layer and a scanner enhancing the visibility of X ray image information items with suppressing loss in the intensity of radiation light, and a memory layer. SOLUTION: The memory layer 1 comprises a large number of particles which are designed to store the X ray information items, can be excited by induced radiation 3 to emit emission radiation 7 matching one of the X ray information items and are embedded in a medium and distributed in the whole width of the memory layer. The scanner 10 comprises a radiation unit 4 for irradiating a linear region 13 on the memory layer with the induced radiation and a detector 9 for positionally image-dissecting and detecting the radiation emitted along the linear region by the memory layer. For the purpose of enhancing the visibility of the image information items with suppressing loss in the intensity of the emission radiation, the medium is designed to at least partially absorb each of two components of the emission radiation emitted perpendicularly to each other from the individual particles and oriented in parallel with the plane of the memory layer.
