SOLUTION: The nonaqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, and the negative electrode made of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon manufactured by heat reaction of a raw material containing pitch as a main component, especially the hyderocarbon having an atomic ratio of hydrogen/carbon (H/C) of 0.18-0.25, a specific surface area by a BET process of 0.1-50 m2, a real density of 1.45 g/cm3or more is mixed with graphitized meso carbon microbeads in a mass ratio of 70:30 to 40:60 to manufacture a nagative active material, and the density of the negative electrode is made to 1.1 g/cm3or more.
