METHOD FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DATA, METHOD FOR REPRODUCING DATA, DEVICE FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DATA, AND DEVICE FOR REPRODUCING DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for saving and reproducing data in a multimedia system. SOLUTION: The method for recording/reproducing data to/from the disk drive of a multimedia system is provided. This method comprises the steps of: separating information to be recorded in the disk drive into stream information and nonstream information for managing the stream information; recording the stream information in the disk, and saving the nonstream information not in the disk but in an additional memory means. On a reproduction mode, first, additional information contained in the nonstream information saved in the additional memory means is read, and a target track is sought based on the additional information to reproduce the stream information. Thus, a seeking time and a reading/writing time for reading/writing the corresponding nonstream information to/from the disk are shortened when the stream information is read/written.
