OPTICAL DISK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem that when an optical disk device is vertically placed for the use, loading operation of a disk while supporting it so as not to fall is not easy operation but inconvenient. SOLUTION: The optical disk device 1 to which the optical disk can be mounted in the vertical state, comprises a case 2, a tray 3 attached so as to be freely retractable from the case 2, a pickup module provided with an optical pickup 4b which is arranged on the tray 3 and performs at least either reading data written in the optical disk or writing data in the optical disk, and provided with a driving means for rotating the optical disk, a locking means for fixedly locking the optical disk placed on the driving means to the driving means, and a holding means for holding the case 2 and the tray 3 to be freely transferable.
