Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element and its manufacturing method and a display device wherein high performance can be obtained by preventing peeling-off or degeneration of a first electrode. SOLUTION: From the substrate 11 side, via a planarization layer 13 which is an underlying layer, a first electrode 14 as a positive electrode, an insulating film 15, an organic layer 16 including a light emitting layer, and a second electrode 17 as a negative electrode are laminated in this order. The first electrode 14 has a constitution in which an adhering layer 14A, a reflecting layer 14B and a barrier layer 14C are laminated in this order from the substrate 11 side. The qualitative change of the reflecting layer 14B is prevented by the barrier 14C, and the reflecting layer 14B is suppressed from peeling off from the planarization layer 13 by the adhering layer 14A. Furthermore, after the adhering layer 14A, the reflecting layer 14B and the barrier layer 14C are all formed, the first electrode 14 is formed by patterning one by one from the barrier layer 14C side.
