SOLUTION: Lithium oxide is produced by causing reductive reaction in lithium cobaltate, which is the material for the positive electrode of the lithium secondary battery, and metal lithium in lithium chloride melted salt, and settling and separating cobalt or cobalt oxide is carried out.
