Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for purifying exhaust gas hardly increasing a back pressure of the filter. SOLUTION: The filter for purifying exhaust gas captures particle-like material in exhaust gas, and removes it by burning. In the filter, the surface at an exhaust gas flowing side is coated with an oxidation catalyst as well as the inside of the filter. The filter is preferably a honey comb filter and the oxidation catalyst preferably contains one or two and more kinds of elements selected from the group consisting of gold, silver, copper, iron, zinc, manganese, cerium, and elements of the platinum group.
