Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a metal hydrocarbon, with which a solvent mixed in producing a high-purity group III metal hydrocarbon by thermally dissociating a group III metal hydrocarbon adduct is readily separated by a post-processing. SOLUTION: The method for purifying a metal hydrocarbon comprises (a) adding a metal hydrocarbon adduct represented by formula (2) (R1R2R3M)xL (2) (L is a Lewis base; x is an integer equal to the number of donor atoms in the Lewis base) to a solvent having a boiling point ≥30°C higher than that of a group III metal hydrocarbon represented by formula (1) R1R2R3M (1) (R1, R2and R3are each a 1-6C monofunctional hydrocarbon group; M is a metallic element of the group III) and ≤200°C and (b) thermally dissociating the adduct and isolating the group III metal hydrocarbon.
