QUANTITY OF LIGHT CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantity of light control device which can improve the precision of quantity of light adjustment of light beams. SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus 100 includes a light scanning device 10 with a laser array 12 which has 32 LDs and a single MPD 20 for detecting a quantity of light of laser beams, laser driving devices D1-D32, the quantity of light control devices C1-C32, and change-over switches SW1-SW32. The change-over switch changes over in accordance with a switch change-over signal from a controller 102 whether the MPD 20 is to be connected to the quantity of light control device or grounded. The controller 102 grounds the MPD 20 so as to discharge electric charges accumulated in the MPD 20 for a period of time other than a quantity of light control period of time, and connects the quantity of light control device corresponding to the LD to be controlled and the MPD 20 with each other so that the quantity of light control is carried out during the quantity of light control period of time. The quantity of light control device carries out the quantity of light control to make the quantity of light a target quantity of light on the basis of a detection signal from the MPD 20.
