METHOD OF ESTIMATING/COMPENSATING RADIO WAVE ATTENUATION DURING RAINFALL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of estimating/compensating radio wave attenuation during rainfall in radio communication utilizing a frequency band heavily causing the radio wave attenuation. SOLUTION: The method previously investigates and stores the mutual relation between the rainfall attenuation tendency of a radio wave within a radio band actually used for communication and that of an electromagnetic wave outside the radio band. At communication, the electromagnetic wave outside the radio band is measured to estimate the attenuation of the radio wave within the radio band from the measurement result and the stored mutual relation, and a radio unit is adaptively compensated based on the estimation result.
