WIDE ANGLE CAMERA AND WIDE ANGLE CAMERA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image with high resolution without the need for increasing the number of pixels of an imaging device. SOLUTION: In a wide angle camera 1 including an optical system 1a comprising :a hyperboloidal mirror 5; and a lens 6, and an imaging means 1b including an imaging device 7 for imaging an optical image collected by the optical system, the relative position relationship between the optical system 1a and the imaging device 7 is adjusted so that an optical axis 12 of the lens 6 and an effective area center 10a of an imaging face of the imaging device 7 have a prescribed distance on the imaging face in a way of forming an image of a prescribed visual field area being an imaging object to an effective area 10 of the imaging face in a mirror optical image collected by the optical system 1a with magnification. Thus, the original number of pixels can effectively be utilized and an image with high resolution can be obtained without the need for increasing the number of pixels of the imaging device 7.
