Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for electrolytic capacitor that is high in electrical conductivity, does not precipitate any crystal in a low temperature range, is excellent in thermal stability in a high temperature range and usable over a wide temeperature range, and to provide an electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: The electrolyte is prepared by dissolving 1,1'-spirobipyrrolidinium compound salt (concrete example: 1,1'-spirobipyrrolidinium hydrogenmaleate and/or 1,1'-spirobipyrrolidinium hydrogenphthalate) expressed by generalized formula [1] (wherein, A denotes an acid component) in a solvent composed ofγ-butyrolactone etc., as an electrolyte at a rate of 5-50 mass%.
