Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shock absorbing member for a vehicle excellently and deformingly compressed by receiving a shock by inexpensive constitution. SOLUTION: In a crash box 10, a shock absorbing part 44 formed in a cylindrical shape, a bumper side mounting part 26 overhung from one axial end of the shock absorbing part 44 in a direction crossing the axial direction and a vehicle side mounting part 28 extended from the other end of the shock absorbing member 44 in the axial direction are formed integrally. In the bumper side mounting part 26, the crash box is fixed to a bumper frame member by bolts as a fastening means, and in the vehicle side mounting part 28, the crash box is fixed to a vehicle frame member by bolts.
