VANE PUMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent seizure from occurring caused by contact friction between a rotor side face and a side plate by forming an oil sump recessed part in one side face of a vane pump rotor having both side faces supported by a pair of side plates and leading a part of the back pressure of delivery oil discharged from a pump chamber into the recessed part. SOLUTION: This vane pump is formed so that both side faces 20A and 20B of the rotor 20 are held by the pair of side plates 30 and 40, a vane guide is fitted to one side plate 30, and a pair of arc groove holes are formed in the other side plate 40. In the vane pump, the part of the back pressure of the delivery oil discharged from the pump is led, through the arc groove holes, into the oil sump recessed part formed in one of the rotor side faces. Thus, since a clearance between the rotor side face 20B and the other side plate 40 is lubricated, seizure due to sliding contact between the rotor 20 and the side plate can be prevented.
