SIDE FLAP FOLDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side flap folding device capable of pressing a rear side flap continuously formed on a side wall at the rear side in the advancing direction by one step while carrying a carton to the inner side of the carton, and folding the flap by at least a right angle. SOLUTION: The side flap folding device comprises a circulation means to circulate a push member 6 comprising a supporting plate 25 or the like connected to arm plates 21 and 22 to be rotated in the carton carrying direction, and a folding means comprising an arm 28 or the like with a cam follower 27 in contact with a cam surface 30 added thereto which abuts the push member 6 on a rear side flap from the rear side in the advancing direction, performs the folding action to press the push member to the inner side of the carton and fold it. By the composite actions of the circulation means and the folding means, the push member 6 is abutted against the rear side flap from the rear side while advancing the push member in the carton advancing direction, the rear side flap is folded and pressed to the inner side of the carton.
