OPTICAL COMMUNICATION MODULE AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module which can freely connect a one-core optical fiber to a two-core optical fiber and to provide an optical communication system having this optical communication module. SOLUTION: This optical communication module includes an optical communication module for two one-core optical fibers, second detector 17, 17', first detector 17", first controller 18, and second controller 18'. When one of the first detector 17" and the second detector 17, 17' detect the information part 16 of a two-core optical fiber plug, a signal for selecting the optical fiber of the second detector side which has detected the information part 16 to the optical fiber of the transmission side of an optical signal is sent to the first and second controllers 18, 18'. Then, the first and second controllers 18, 18' which have received the signal set light emitting element 5A or 5B to a movable mode and a photodetector 6B or 6A to the movable mode.
