PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair further enhanced in the usability of a footrest on which user's legs are placed. SOLUTION: The wheelchair has a frame 1 having a seating part 10 on which a user sits down, the running wheels 2 arranged to the frame 1 and the footrest 3 which is arranged on the frame 1 so as to be replaceable to a use position W2 and a housing position W1 and on which the legs of the user sitting down on the seating part 10 are placed. An operation part for automatically changing over the footrest 3 to the housing position W1 is provided to the frame 1 or the footrest 3 when user's legs are not placed on the footrest 3.
