SOLUTION: This sheet material for forming a piezoelectric element is a self-standing porous sheet material comprising an inorganic substance and a thermoplastic resin and having a thickness of 2-1,000 μm. Based on the sum of the inorganic substance and the thermoplastic resin, the content of the inorganic substance is 30 vol.% or higher and that of the thermoplastic resin is 1-70 vol.%.
