PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent UV-rays from a UV-ray irradiator from impinging on UV-ray curing ink in a section for discharging ink, or the like, to cause curing of ink thus clogging the waste liquid discharge passage in the section for discharging ink, or the like. SOLUTION: A shield plate 54 is arranged movably along the moving direction of a recording head 8 immediately above a section 20 for discharging ink, or the like, located at a home position. When the recording head 8 moves immediately above the section 20 for discharging ink, or the like, the shield plate 54 is moved by a pushing force on the recording head 8 side in the direction for opening the upper part of the section 20 for discharging ink, or the like, while closing the irradiation opening of a UV-ray irradiator 12. When the recording head 8 moves in the direction of a print area from immediately above the section 20 for discharging ink, or the like, the shield plate 54 closes the irradiation opening of the UV-ray irradiator 12 until the UV-ray irradiator 12 passes immediately above the section 20 for discharging ink, or the like.
