CORE WIRE AND SENSOR GUIDE WIRE ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core wire for a sensor guide wire assembly which is used for an endovascular measurement of a physiological variable in a biological body. SOLUTION: Different sections in the longitudinal direction respectively having cross-sectional diameters (dA to dG) are provided on the core wire 20. At the same time, the core wire 20 is equipped with a diameter expanding section on which a sensor is arranged, and includes a specified number of sections (C, D and E), one or a plurality of distal end side sections (F and G) located on the distal end side of the diameter expanding section, and one or a plurality of proximal end side sections (A and B) located on the proximal end side of the diameter expanding section. At least one of the parts of the diameter expanding section has a diameter being larger than the diameters of the distal end side sections and the proximal end side sections.
