VERTICAL ANGLE-OF-VISIBILITY SWITCHING APPARATUS FOR VIDEO PROCESSING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical angle-of-visibility switching apparatus for a video processing system which is excellent in responsiveness and is advantageous in terms of costs and durability. SOLUTION: The video processing system for vehicles includes a camera 1 which includes an imaging device and outputs a video signal corresponding to picked-up video, a VRAM 4 for storing the video signal and a video processing part 5 for recognizing and processing the video signal fetched into the VRAM 4, wherein the video processing part 5 is provided with a vertical angle-of-visibility switching control means 7 for setting a wide angle mode and a narrow angle mode for a vertical angle of visibility of the video signal in accordance with a scene, fetching all areas within a valid pixel range of the imaging device into the VRAM 4 in the wide angle mode and fetching vertical half areas within the valid pixel range of the imaging device into the VRAM 4 in the narrow angle mode.
