PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly discriminate a request from a host at a high speed with few processing steps. SOLUTION: A device has a storage part 6B in which a value 8, indicating information necessary for processing according to the request, is stored at a position associated with a key 7 to be extracted from the request by predetermined fixed processing, and it executes a processing for producing the key 7 from the request received from the host by the fixed processing, a processing for retrieving a value 8 corresponding to the produced key 7 from the storage part 6B, and a processing according to the request on the basis of the retrieved value 8.
