Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device 1 capable of suppressing the lowering of sealability by keeping stable the contact of a side lip 8 on a mating member 4 by increasing the interference of the side lip 8 against the mating member 4. SOLUTION: In this sealing device 1 having the side lip 8 slidably in close contact with the mating member 4, the side lip 8 is formed in a multiple stage lip shape. In this case, since the lip end 8b of the second stage or subsequent formed at the rear side of the side lip 8 comes into contact with the mating member 4 in place of the first step lip end 8a even if the lip end 8a of the side lip 8 is raised from the mating member 4 due to an increase in the interference of the side lip 8 against the mating member 4, the sealing operation of the side lip 8 is continued without interruption.
