SOLUTION: A motion detection camera system 100 is provided with a first camera 104 equipped with a low resolution sensor 304 including a plurality of image sensing areas 404, and a plurality of high resolution cameras 106A-106O each associated with a set of the multiple image sensing areas, and is configured to detect a motion on the basis of an image that is sensed by the first camera, to specify the one set of image sensing areas on the basis of the motion, and to turn on power sources of the high resolution cameras associated with the specified one set of image sensing areas.
