FACSIMILE AND PRINT RESUMING METHOD AT OCCURRENCE OF MULTI-PAGE PRINTING ERROR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a time and resources up to the end of printing by preventing duplicated printed objects generated in the course of returning to a printing mode after an abnormal situation caused by the lack of recording paper or ink. SOLUTION: When an ink ribbon sensor 6 or a recording paper sensor 7 detects the lack of recording paper or an ink ribbon during printing, the facsimile interrupts the printing to wait for charging the ink ribbon or the recording paper. When the ink ribbon or the recording paper is charged to go into a printing mode, it resumes the printing starting from a printing-interrupted point. If a user gives a forced ending command at the interruption of the printing or after a specified time lapses, it exits after finishing the printing process. This is for the reason that a motor is left excited at the time of the interruption, and hence there is a risk of damaging the motor for a long interruption. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
