BACKSIDE RECOGNIZING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a property damage accident or a physical injury accident during backward travel of a vehicle, by enlarging, as much as possible, a region at the back of the vehicle capable of being photographed with a camera. SOLUTION: In this backside recognizing system for the vehicle, the camera 2 for photographing the backside of the vehicle is disposed over the rear part of the vehicle 1, a display 6 is disposed in a cabin 5, and an image photographed with the camera 2 is displayed on the display 6. The camera 2 is mounted to the rear end of an arm 3 movable in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle 1, and the arm 3 is moved back by setting a shift lever in the cabin to a reverse position. Thus, the camera 2 is supported in a projecting state to the back side of the car body, a large region including the rear end of the car body is photographed by the camera 2, and the image is displayed on the display 6.
