Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition (medicine composition and health food composition) which has inhibitory action of lipid peroxide on organisms, cholesterol reduction action, neutral lipid reduction action, hyperlipemia amelioration action, diabetes amelioration action, brain function amelioration action, dementia amelioration action, or the like, and is useful for treating and preventing various life style-related diseases. SOLUTION: The medicine composition and the health food composition comprise a component as an active ingredient which is an extract containing a component of tea of a plant of the genus Ligustrum and composed of a polyphenol component as a main component obtained by extracting the tea of the plant with water or an organic solvent alone or their mixture and has antioxidation activity and/or aldose reductase inhibitory activity.
