Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal surface treatment aqueous solution with which oxide films and burrs generated on the cut face of a press-cut high carbon tool steel can be removed in a short period of time, and to provide a metal surface treatment method therefor. SOLUTION: Sulfuric acid ions, a fluorine compound, an additive and hydrogen peroxide are added in prescribed ratios to obtain a metal surface treatment aqueous solution. Further, a step of degreasing where oil and fat and stains remaining on the surface of a workpiece are removed, and a step of washing where the pretreatment agent remaining on the surface of the workpiece is removed are performed. Thereafter, chemical etching is performed to the workpiece with the metal surface treatment aqueous solution, and a step of neutralization and rust prevention where the pretreatment agent remaining on the surface of the workpiece is neutralized is performed.
