Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite body obtained suitable for a member having high wear resistance and chipping resistance required for the member by inserting a ceramic material into a wear resistant metal, and to provide a method thereof. SOLUTION: The insertion cast composite body is characterised by being obtained by inserting either or both of particle-dispersed silicon carbide ceramics obtained by sintering silicon carbide in which either or both of a Ti-Zr-B-based and a Ti-Hf-B-base solid solution particles are dispersed, and metal boride solid solution ceramics having a composition of Ti1-xMeXB2(wherein, Me is at least one kind of metal selected from the group consisting of V, Nb, Ta, Cr and Mo, and 0.02≤x≤0.60) into a wear resistant metal.
