METHOD FOR PRODUCING DECAHYDRONAPHTHALEN-2-ONE-BASED COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing a decahydronaphthalen-2-one-based compound in a high yield. SOLUTION: The production method comprises oxidizing a decahydronaphthalen-2-ol-based compound with oxygen or oxygen-containing gas in the presence of (i) an oxidation catalyst composed of at least one kind of a noble metal component selected from the group consisting of palladium, platinum, silver, iridium, rhodium, ruthenium and compounds of these noble metal elements and a promoter composed of at least one kind of a metal component selected from the group consisting of bismuth, tin, lead, antimony, gold and compounds of these metal elements, (ii) at least one kind of a metal compound selected from an alkali metal compound and an alkaline earth metal compound and (iii) a water-insoluble solvent.
