Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact energy absorbing member which has the same level of impact energy absorbing power as a porous metal and which can be manufactured at low costs. SOLUTION: The impact energy absorbing member has a plurality of panel members 2, each composed of two panels 3 attached together. The panel 3 has a plurality of projection parts 3a and a flange part 3b. Two panels 3 are attached by attaching their flange parts 3b, with their convex parts 3a facing outward from each other so that a cavity 4 is formed between the two projection parts 3a. The panel members 2 are sequentially laminated in such a way that the flange part 3b of one panel member 3 is attached to the projection part 3a of an adjacent panel member 2.
