TROUBLE INFORMATION COLLECTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for collecting screen output information from the time when a computer system is powered to the time when an operating system is started for the purpose of smoothly performing trouble analysis. SOLUTION: A screen information collection board with a built-in screen information collection control program is installed in the computer system, and as screen information up to the start of the operating system of the computer system is subjected to MPEG compression at the same time that the system is powered, this information is stored in an external memory prepared inside the screen information collection board. When referring to a BIOS Post code and determining that a trouble has occurred in the computer system before the start of the operating system, a user or a maintenance worker uses an application program to prevent overwriting of the collected screen information to prevent loss of the screen information.
