Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition with less waveguide loss against a light having a wavelength ranging from visible rays to near infrared rays, and excellent in crack resistance and with excellent patterning property when applying radiation, and to provide an optical waveguide composed of the composition. SOLUTION: The radiation curing type composition according to the invention comprises (A) a hydrolyzate or its condensate of a hydrolyzable silane compound represented by general formula (1) : (R1)p(R2)qSi(X)4-p-q( in the formula, R1is a 1-12C non-hydrolyzable organic group containing a fluorine atom, R2is a 1-12C non-hydrolyzable organic group ( but excluding that containing fluorine atom ), X is a hydrolyzable group, p is an integer of 1 or 2, q is an integer of 0 or 1) and (B) a photo acid generating agent, wherein the content of the silanol groups ( Si-OH ) in the composition is 0.1-0.5 against the bonded groups on the whole Si.
